Client: Hainan Giant Home Buyers Limited

Program:  81,600 sm distributed over a 16 level, class A office tower, an 18 level serviced apartments tower and a 3 level retail mall. Parking and Back of House is in a 2 level basement.

Location: Changbin West 2nd st. and Changhai Ave, Changliu District, Haikou, Hainan, China

Construction: concrete and steel composite frame, curtain wall.

The building is designed to western standards of space, comfort and quality. To that end, the elevations are wrapped in double glazed, low -e curtainwall, minimizing the need for HVAC cooling and reducing solar glare. Operable windows allow for personal environmental control. Daylight reaches all interior spaces.

YuFu International Gateway stands out as an example of locally sensitive architecture, unique for its location and welcome relief from the typical bland office parks prevalent in the area. The architecture is a symbol of a gateway to Hainan’s prosperity, Hainan’s tropical climate and it’s unique landscapes. The concept is reinforced by glass boxes protruding from the elevations, glazed in leaf textured fritted glass.
